Re-Growth

Re-Growth aims to explore new perspectives of production and process sustainability through biofabrication. The research focuses on experimentation with bacterial cellulose dealing with issues ranging from fabric production, processing and construction techniques, production and integration of accessories, and destructive treatment and testing, covering the entire life cycle of the fashion product. The project concludes with the creation of a zero-waste outfit to provide practical application to the most relevant results obtained during the experimental process.

Samples Overview

The experimentation covers the entire life cycle of the fashion product.

Construction samples aim at functionality and characterization of garments.

Analysis Sheets

An analysis sheet was created for each developed sample during the course of the project to compare the characteristics of the material and evaluate its application possibilities

Outfit

Garments belonging to the Re-Growth project are characterized by the application of Zero Waste logic at the level of construction and material reuse.

Bacterial cellulose is used in this project to complement the textile supply chain by becoming a means for the aesthetic-sensory characterization of fabrics and a basic element for the development of logics for sustainable production.

Zero-Waste paper pattern

The garment patterns are designed to eliminate or minimize the formation of waste, which, when present, results in the integration into chopped bacterial cellulose and/or accessories.

Manipulations selection

Of the experimentations with bacterial cellulose, the most promising have been selected to be included in Re-Growth garments
